If you still have the issue, please fill out this info:
macOS Version: 15.7.1 (24G231)
Principle Version (check for updates first!): 6.40 (6053)
What do you need help with?
I am unable to import files from figma into principle. It was working just fine during the whole day and then suddenly it stopped working during the evening!
It simple gets stuck on “getting documents”. sometimes it gives the error “couldn’t reach figma”.
Im logged in in both apps. Figma and Principle are updated.
I have tried to move files to a new one, to see if it’s the size of the file that causes the issue. but the problem still presists.
Since principle hasn’t gotten any updates in ages and no one from the team is active in here, im kinda fearing that principle has been abandoned! if that’s the case, an update would be nice!
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1: try to import file from figma.
It looks to be a bug on Figma’s end. Their API at https://api.figma.com/v1/selections isn’t responding. I’ve contacted their engineering team and I’m awaiting a response.
Until Figma fixes the bug, There are two possible workarounds:
Manually export layers as images from Figma and drag those into Principle
Export a .fig file from figma, import into Sketch, then import that into Principle
