Hello I am new to Principle and I have been trying to import my artboards from sketch to principle but every time I do that my icon colors change. Can anyway please advise on what to do to avoid that?

Is your sketch document color managed ?
You can edit your color profile in sketch (Shift + Command + K) and set it to sRGB.
Than try to import again, it might solve your problem.
